VLDB

After a few minor mishaps on the train, I arrived at VLDB (Very Large DataBases) in Berlin. It is being hosted in an old university that is on Unter den Linden strasse. I wandered around looking for the rest of the MySQL attendees and found that Ralf was the only person manning our modest table.

I chatted with Ralf for a bit and then made my way to the first session of the afternoon where I discovered what are likely the most uncomfortable row desks in the world - relics from another age, they have no lower back support - only a couple of slats across the top.

Whining aside, I am sitting and waiting for a tutorial on privacy and databases to start. Hope that it is interesting!
