Back in Germany

Just after dawn in Frankfurt. After spending 9 hours flying from Dallas to Frankfurt with a group of German tourists with food poisoning, I am glad to get off of the plane. I suppose that the tourists were much more grateful to get on the ground than I. Spending the majority of a nine hour [...]

Bleh.

Work has been quite busy over the last few weeks, hence the lack of blog entries. I still have roughly jotted notes of the Germany-Bulgaria trip sitting around - I need to either find time to polish them up into something that is postable or decide to just skip them.

Torben Wilson, PHP old-timer, and his alt.country band are coming to Calgary on September 19th at the Liberty Lounge and the 20th at Original Joe's (FIIK which location - Torben doesn't know either).

So… round up the kids and come on down.

PHP International Con Day 4

Last day of the conference - nothing too exciting :) Gave my talk, spent some time with some MySQL users, had another chat with Werner, chatted with Masoud (one of the conference organizers) for a bit.

The flight to Germany was sleepless, but otherwise pleasantly uneventful. Arriving in Stuttgart, we landed under heavy cloud and into translucent grey fog.

Georg and Kirsten were kind enough to meet me at the airport. It was good to see both of them again. It is a bit odd having good friends at such a long [...]
