Mozilla Foundation Report for January 2008

This is my report on activities related to the Mozilla Foundation for the month of January 2008. In the future, I'll return to posting weekly reports. For more information on the other foundation-related activities, see the status reports published by David Boswell, Frank Hecker and Gerv Markham.
This month has had an unusually strong focus on [...]

MoFo Weekly Report 2007-11-02

Most of this week focused on events and task triage. I was holed up in a small, comfortable hotel in Slovenia with good Net access. This, combined with a chest cold, kept me nicely focused on doing lots of small tasks.
Events

Missed our bi-weekly MoCo/MoFo events triage call - the call was a bit late and, [...]

Slides from eLiberatica 2007 online

For the curious, the slides for the eLiberatica 2007 presentations are now up at http://eliberatica.ro/2007/ - the slides include presentations from eZ CEO Aleksander Farstad, Brian Behlendorf, FSF Europe President Georg Greve, Ubuntist Kurt von Finck and MySQL co-founder Monty Widenius (and yours truly, but the slides are a bit weak - check out my [...]

MoFo Weekly Report 2007-06-01

Frank and I traveled to Cambridge, MA, USA to attend the Berkman Center's Internet & Society 2007 event. We attended to both to learn what academics were doing in areas that interest us (such as transparency, public service, etc.) and to share concerns that we have and lessons that we have learned from our activities.
While [...]

MoFo Weekly Report 2007-05-25

A very brief (and late) report for this week.
I was mostly inactive on the Mozilla front - I did some followup from eLiberatica and a few scant bits of work on the Internet as a Public Good summit.

Mozilla Foundation Weekly Status 2007-05-18

Most of this week was taken up with preparing for and attending the eLiberatica conference. In fact, as I write this very brief report, I am in the town of Rasnov in Romania. I'll be here for another day before I return home.
The event went extremely well - people were eager to discuss and share [...]

Mozilla Foundation Weekly Status 2007-05-11

Another week of work on the Internet as a Public Good event. Despite missing a few planners this week, we had an excellent planning session. On the down side, production of the IPG website continues to drag on - more on this later in the report. Frank, Gerv and I did a bug triage of [...]

Mozilla Foundation Weekly Status 2007-05-04

Helped produce the Internet as a Public Good event. We've sent out a set of invites and are still looking for people who come from different cultures to help round out the view at the symposium. As a group, were moving pretty darn slow on the site. I'll try some prodding next week. Did a [...]

Mozilla Foundation Weekly Status 2007-04-27

Summary
Progress on the Internet as Public Good Symposium (but not as much as we would probably like - the organization team is very busy, which makes coordinating our activities difficult.) Finally started working my way through the stale governance bugs again. This time around, I am getting some response from people.

Romanian Software Libre Event: LOAD

A few days ago, my friend and fellow ROSI-ist, Lucian Savluc, mentioned an upcoming Romanian Software Libre event called LOAD - the Linux Open Alternative Days.
Another ROSI member, Alexandru Lăpuşan, will give a presentation on the ROSI initiative and our upcoming eLiberatica conference.
Additionally, two other ROSI members will be attending the event as speakers: [...]
