s/Blogging/Talking/:Tim Bray hits the nail on the head

Tim Bray hits the nail directly on the head when he writes the following about the hoopla surrounding the risks of blogging to corporations:
As a thought experiment, replace the word ‘blogging’ with ‘email’ or ‘conference presentation’ or ‘teleconference’ or ‘sales presentation’. Or ‘barroom conversation’ for that matter. Quick, quick, you wanna be safe, you better [...]

Northern Voice: Blogging, Passions and Personal Expression

Hurray! Mandy is at Northern Voice participating in her first conference panel on personal expression and passion in blogging.
I don't remember the name of the first panelist, but he is awesome. Notable quotes on topics like how he discovered the Internet: "So I was in Guam. It was 1995 and Jerry Garcia died." On recreational [...]

Northern Voice: Notes from Sifry on the Blogosphere

Currently sitting in on Sifry on the Blogosphere session at Northern Voice.
Amusing quotes from Dave Sifry:

"I immediately became a stats whore."
"We are leaving little droppings on the web."
"Authority does not denote veracity.

Ideas:

Blogs allow others to observe someone else's attention, interest and world view over time.

Sharing information

One of the first discussions that some of the eZ team had with Sandro, when he started his post as our CKO, was how we could deal with the challenge of effectively sharing our information as we continue to grow.

There are many possible solutions for this problem. A lot of them involve long proposals, UML [...]

Not in the mood…

for much blogging. I have drafts for blog entries bunched up in various text files and in Kung-Log, however, none of the drafts get much beyond a few lines of jotted notes. Maybe I will feel more like writing after or during my upcoming few days of vacation. :)

Post-nightmare blogging

I have not kept a dream journal for many years now and it feels strange to re-read an entry made fresh after a nightmare. Nothing else to say really… {shrug}

No Pressure

My friend Sandro blogged:

"Now that I had a look at Zak's Weblog, I was surprised by his new and very inspired way of writing. He actually started to write down his impressions in a poetic way - and suddenly his Weblog gains more of a personal note and becomes more valuable to me. So what [...]

Blog, blog, blog
