Refactoring a few roles at eZ systems
There is some interesting organizational refactoring happening at eZ these days.
First, my friend Sandro Groganz (nee Zic), is moving to a new role within eZ as our Chief Knowledge Officer. Now, I know that this sounds like an oxymoron, but trust me, it is a good thing. Think of Sandro's role as being that of a super-librarian, faster than a speeding email, stronger than Slashdot meetup and able to leap tall mounds of cruft in a single bound. He will work to ensure that we get really good at sharing and managing our information, now that we have grown into a 60+ person company. For more info on what he is doing, check out his blog - he is sure to post on his activities.
Bård, one of the eZ founders, is going to focus on emerging technology. We don't really know what to call his role yet. Chief Tinkerer? Officer-in-charge-of-fun-hacking? Someday, an appropriate title will stick. In practical terms, it means that he will do more cool things along the lines of his work developing the extension that allows OOo documents to be imported to and exported from eZ publish.
I will be focusing on North American operations, become eZ's Managing Director of North America. Note that this doesn't mean that I won't continue to focus on Free Software and Open Source issues - instead, it means that a strong Free Software and Open Source supporter gets to manage a regional office.
