PHP Vikinger
eZ publish lives and dies by PHP. When all is right in the PHP world, it makes our lives a lot easier at eZ systems.
Given that PHP doesn’t cost a thing and we only employee a few PHP hackers, we wanted to show our gratitude to the PHP community for its awesome work over the years. This year, we plan to do it by hosting a midsummer conference and celebration for the PHP community.
The event is called the PHP Vikinger. The key details are:
- June 24-25
- in Skien, Norway (map)(directions to Skien and eZ HQ)
- a 20 Euro registration fee, with all fees paid going to Free Software and Free Culture organizations. (We would like to support the Free Software Foundation and the Foundation for a Free Information Infrastructure. Other suggestions are welcome, but may not be accepted.
- an open schedule for sessions a la Foo Camp and Bar Camp
- free (and uncomfortable) sleeping arrangements in a local school (Bring a sleeping bag and foam mat – hotel accommodations are also available, but you will need to book these on your own)
- free and (hopefully) good food (prepared by yours truly… I did train as a cook after all
- with cool attendees Christopher Kunz, Ilia Alshanetsky, Marcus Boerger, Rasmus Lerdorf and (hopefully) you
- … and more details coming soon.
You can get cheap flights to Norway on RyanAir.
