OpenMind 2007 Age of Literate Machines Keynote
As the narrator in the Big Lebowski posited, "Some days you eat the bear and some days the bear eats you."
I gave my keynote at OpenMind and the response has been quite positive. Unfortunately, I feel that I botched some key parts of the presentation, which is a bit disappointing for me.
What I have now learned through a few uncomfortable presentations is that the Age of Literate Machines is a bear to deliver. If I want to have a chance to give a really solid delivery and be happily eating roast bear afterwards, I need to carefully read and rework a prior transcript of the session, so that my brain is well-primed for the speech and then present a full version of the presentation to a small test audience on the preceding day.
Update: Attendees have been quite positive about the presentation, which makes me feel less disappointed. :) I've also noticed a blog post that mentions the session as a part of the commentary on OpenMind and MindTrek http://losca.blogspot.com/2007/10/openmindmindtrek.html
