MoFo Weekly Report 2007-12-21

This week, I:

  • Wrapped up the open 2007 grant proposals. Some will have to be pushed into 2008. Frank will report on what was approved this year.
  • Worked on abstracts for German event Leadership by (Open) innovation: Threat or challenge to the Telecommunications, IT and Media industries and American event F2C: Freedom to Connect.
  • Started revamping The Age of Literate Machines for upcoming presentations at SCALE 6x and the PHP Québec Conference 2008.
  • Caught up with Mitchell while she was in Vancouver. Discussed some rough ideas for new Mozilla Foundation programs that work to support the Mozilla Manifesto - especially:
    • goal 2: speak to people whether or not they have a technical background
    • goal 4: provide a framework for other people to advance this vision of the Internet)
    • the last two points of our manifesto pledge: promote models for creating economic value for the public benefit; and promote the Mozilla Manifesto principles in public discourse and within the Internet industry)
  • A few minor internal bits of work related to HR and community relations.
