Joining the Open Source Initiative as a Board Observer
I just realized that I never formally announced that (as of January 9th, 2008) I have joined the Open Source Initiative as a board observer. This is an unpaid position without voting privileges.
The role of board observer is quite loosely defined; it feels much like being a member of an open source project where you are expected to choose how to use your skills for the benefit of the group and the people that the group serves. the
Being in this role makes it easier for me to grind my particular axes of OSI transparency and accountability. The only trouble is finding the time to participate. If you want to follow along with my activities, I will be posting regular reports in the OSI blog. You can find my particular posts at:
