Cloud making?

The train bumpily rounds a corner on the tracks between Aachen and Cologne. A gap opens in the grey skies overhead and golden sunlight pours down. The low leaden skies turn to grey pearl as they are lit from above and below. Against this softly glowing sky a giant cooling tower pumps stark white clouds into the sky where they appear to be shoring up a massive looming white-grey cloud bank.

From inside the train, it looks like we are passing a cloud factory and for a few moments, the illusion is perfect - like the cloud machine from Jacob Two-Two Meets the Hooded Fang.

We speed along and the illusion fades. I wonder if this is a nuclear plant. I wonder how much environmental damage it does. Even so, I still feel all warm and fuzzy inside, and sit and remember Mandy reading the Jacob Two-Two books to me soon after we had started dating.
